BMC has been informed by Wardens at the Vivian Country Park that a large (and still unstable) rock-fall has occurred at Vivian Slate Quarry, affecting access to "Comes the Dervish" area.
The rock fall, which has also affected access to the "Nostromo" wall and routes such as "Never as Good as the First Time", "Sweetest Taboo" and "Manic Strain", is reported to have made the approach across the already bad step, by the old rail, extremely awkward and even more gripping!
Access is still possible, but the rock and debris above this area is currently in an extremely unstable condition, so all climbers are advised that extreme care is required in this area.
