The maker of the hit documentary ‘Life of a Mountain: A year on Scafell Pike’ will be showing exclusive clips of his upcoming new film about Blencathra at a BMC meeting in the Peak District.

Terry Abraham’s last epic, on England’s highest mountain, was hailed as a “Wordsworthian hymn to nature and eulogy to humanity” in the Times and broke viewing records for BBC Four, with nearly a million people catching its first showing alone.

But he hasn’t paused for breath, already going on to start work on his follow-up: a documentary capturing the moods and magic another of Britain’s most beloved mountains, Blencathra.

Now Terry will be showing never-before-seen preview clips from that film at an upcoming meeting of the BMC’s Peak Area on April 15. It’s a great opportunity to take a look at a movie in the making from one of Britain’s most exciting and distinctive outdoor filmmakers.

He will also be interviewed by BMC Hill Walking Officer Carey Davies, who made an appearance in ‘Scafell Pike’ to talk about the BMC’s funding of Lake District paths. For a preview of what to expect, read Carey's interview with Terry for a recent edition of Summit magazine here.

Complimenting Terry’s talk, BMC CEO Dave Turnbull and Carey Davies will present the organisation’s aim to become ‘The natural home for hill walkers’.

The meeting will take place at The Maynard in Grindleford on Wednesday 15 April 2015, starting at 7.30pm. For full details see the BMC community site.
