We want to share the amazing array of adventures that have been submitted to us over the years, so what better way to do that than to invite you to host your own film evening!
Whether you’re an indoor wall, an outdoor activity centre, a club, running an event or just want to get a group of friends together, our vast BMC Women in Adventure film catalogue will let you tailor your own film night to your own audience! We’ve created a pack for you to use to organise your own Women in Adventure film night .
A whopping 109 films all featuring women adventuring have been submitted to the BMC Women in Adventure Film competition over the last five years. The content of these films ranges from women climbing to the highest point on earth to sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, from driving a van through Africa to wild camping around the country, from running from sunrise until sundown and adventuring against all odds. The ladies in these films were all inspired to take on these adventures for their own reasons and we’d love for these adventures to be shared as far and as wide as possible so that others may be inspired to pursue their own adventures, whatever their reason.
Selecting your films
We've compiled a list of all the films ever submitted to the competition that are available for you to use for your own film night.
DOWNLOAD THE LIST OF FILMS
You can preview all the films on the TeamBMC Youtube Channel , but if you would like the original film files sent over to you, email emma@thebmc.co.uk with the list of films you require and you will receive a Dropbox link to download them from.
If you want any additional support in marketing and tailoring your film night, send Emma Travers an email to let her know your ideas!
Promotional Materials
When requesting films, you will also receive a digital pack with assets and logos you can use to advertise your own event. This will include the promo materials for the specific films you have chosen plus graphics with the correct branding to advertise your film night. In social media posts, please tag the BMC and Womenclimb accounts and announce it as an event in partnership with BMC & Womenclimb we’ll be happy to help you promote it via our channels too!
Raising Money
We are not charging a fee for the use of these films or for putting on the event. Instead we want to encourage hosts to use them as an opportunity to raise money for an appropriate cause. At the BMC, we have our own charity ACT: Access and Conservation Trust which funds projects to protect our mountains, seacliffs and act against climate change.
A large part of the money currently donated to ACT will go towards The BMC Climate Project , which has been set up so that our members and supporters can make a real difference to the loved local landscapes and the global climate crisis.
If you would like to choose to support our work through donating the proceeds of the event to ACT,
you can do so here.

What is the Women in Adventure Film Competition?
The aim of this competition is to increase the number of outdoorsy women on the big screen, but we need your films to make that happen. In fact, this year we are putting an emphasis on elevating the voice of grassroot filmmakers that wouldn't otherwise be heard on a significant national and international platform, meaning we will be offering out direct feedback sessions, before and after the deadline, as the year progresses.
By entering the competition, you'll not only be in with a chance of winning cash prizes and the opportunity to showcase your film at some epic outdoor film festivals, but you'll also spur on fellow females to get outside and maybe try something new.
