The list provides details of huts maintained by mountaineering and climbing clubs who are members of the BMC/MS.
Some of these Clubs are willing, if there is room, to make their huts available to other BMC members.
Besides the huts in Scotland listed here, information about other huts owned by Scottish clubs,
including contact details, are given in the Mountaineering Scotland's huts list.

Details of independent hostels in England, Wales and Scotland can be obtained from the Backpackers Press, www.independenthostelsuk.co.uk
Corrections to Lists
Hut Booking Secretaries should notify the BMC of any alterations or additions as they occur.
Hut Equipment
Unless otherwise stated huts are available for both men and women and equipped with beds or bunks. If details are not given in the list it is advisable to check with the Hut Booking Secretary regarding fuel, blankets and cooking facilities. Members should take their own food and a sleeping bag.
Booking
Members wishing to make use of these facilities should approach the Hut Booking Secretary in good time. Some clubs insist that hut bookings should be made by the Main Club Contact of the club wishing to use the hut; if possible the Main Club Contact should make the request in writing.
Fair Treatment of Huts
Members who stay at these huts do so by courtesy of the club concerned and are under an obligation to keep the hut clean and tidy. Failure to do this would bring the list and the entire arrangement into disrepute. In particular, visitors should adhere to the rules exhibited in the hut, or otherwise made known to them, and the methods of payment prescribed.
Using the Hut
If there is any difficulty in contacting the Hut Booking Secretary at the address given on the list, the best
course of action would be to contact the Club's Main Contact (see www.thebmc.co.uk/map).

Cwt Dringo is at the base of one of the UK’s premier rock climbing venues and directly below the cliffs of Bwlch-y-Moch near Tremadog. Being situated in Snowdonia National Park it offers convenient accommodation for and access to the mountains and coastline of North and Mid Wales.
The stone building, built we believe in the late 1800s, used to be a cow shed and dairy! It has now been converted and consists of ‘bunkhouse’ style accommodation sleeping 14 people when booked independently and 20 when the room reserved for use by BRMC members is also in use.
Cwt Dringo was renovated during 2014 and 2015 following a successful Sport England grant application, and consists of:
• 3 dormitories (2 available for external bookings)
• Lounge with a multi-fuel stove
• 2 showers, 2 WCs and 2 washrooms*
• Large fully equipped kitchen and dining area
• Off road car parking
• Drying room
*with a dividing door to provide 2 independent wash areas if required.
BMC affiliated clubs and other educational groups are welcome to book Cwt Dringo. We do not normally rent out the hut on an individual basis.
Guides and instructors are also welcome to book the hut as a training facility, on a day rate or for longer.
