BMC International Meets are week long gatherings of climbers from all over the world. The aim is to showcase the uniqueness of British climbing and its ethics and traditions, along with fostering international relationships.
The 2016 BMC International Winter Climbing Meet will be based at Glenmore Lodge in the heart of the Cairngorms from 24 to 31 January. During the week approximately 40 international climbers from up to 25 countries will be teamed up with about 40 British host climbers to go climbing. Past Meets have attracted climbers not only from Europe but as far as Japan, South Africa, India, Pakistan, China, Canada, America, Israel, New Zealand and Iran.
Each day UK climbers are teamed up with an international guest climber. The role of the UK climber is to climb together with their international partner and show them the full delights of Scottish winter climbing.
Date
The BMC International Winter Climbing Meet will run from Sunday 24 to Sunday 31 January 2016.
Venue
The Meet will be held in Scotland at Glenmore Lodge in the heart of the Cairngorms.
Programme
Each day an international guest climber will be paired with a host climber to go out winter climbing.
Partnerships will change once during the week.
There will be several evening presentations throughout the week (evening programme to be confirmed nearer the time).
