Joe Tasker’s disappearance with Pete Boardman near the summit of Everest in 1982 remains a mystery. Celebrate and explore his life and legacy at Mountain Heritage's latest exhibition in Keswick from 9 September 2016 to May 2017.
Mountain Heritage Trust is proud to announce its latest exhibition in conjunction with Ushaw College and Durham University.
Joe Tasker was an inspiring mountaineer, writer, and film maker, who disappeared alongside Pete Boardman on the North East Ridge of Everest in 1982. The exhibition will showcase his early life at Ushaw College, where he started training to become a priest, through to his mountaineering exploits in the Alps and Himalaya.
The exhibition was launched at Ushaw College, Durham, by best-selling author and mountaineer John Porter, as well as support by dignitaries from Durham University, Ushaw College and the Chair of the BMC Mountain Heritage Trust.
From 9 September until May 2017, the exhibition will move to Keswick Museum and Art Gallery in the Lake District.
