Phil Kelly's RockArchivist web site this week publishes Giles Barker's original audio interviews with Gary and Phil Gibson that were made in the mid 1980s.
Gary Gibson probably has the claim to being the person who has put up more new routes than any other person - world wide.
In these recordings, Gary and Phil Gibson talk about their early climbing years through to the 'present day'. These recordings, made in the mid-late 1980s, when the bolting of Peak limestone was still in its infancy, give some insight into Gary's thinking around that time.
The brothers buy Giles some chips for dinner and Gary, for instance, says he won't place any more bolts on Peak limestone.
It makes for interesting listening although it must be remembered that the interviews were never actually intended for broadcast purposes.
The interviews are here on the RockArchivist website
