Following a successful trial period, access is still allowed at this popular Yorkshire limestone sport venue.
However, the landowner (who lives nearby) remains concerned about climbers on his land, especially those with dogs. One more incident - however minor - and climbing will be banned for good.
Remember what happened at Eagle Tor - the BMC warned climbers the landowner was increasingly concerned with unwanted behaviour. Unfortunately, a few individuals ignored the advice and access was lost, for good. Lets ensure this isn't repeated at Foredale.
Please adhere to the following;
Park at the foot of the hill (at the end of the quarry road) and walk past the farm quietly. Leave the metalled track halfway between the bend and the cottages. Walk up the grassy ridge to the right of the fence - see the BMC signs.
No Camping - No Dogs - No Fires.
