Climbers take action!

Posted by alex messenger on 10/07/2006

The motto of the newly established North Wales Climbing Action Group is “You need your crags! Your crags need you!” The group has already scheduled some activities in the upcoming months, and invites climbers to get involved.

Here are the details;

Tuesday 1 August
Clogwyn y Grochan, Llanberis Pass Meet at the Grochan car park after work for an evening replacing existing lower-off/abseil stations with sturdy black low-stretch rope and hefty maillons. Afterwards, reward yourself for your good deed with a pint in the Vaynol.

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 September
The Diamond, Great Orme Meet at 11am at Parisella’s Café to start cleaning and maintaining routes…at all grades!

Saturday 16 September
Tremadog Meet at Eric’s Café at 10am to look after Bwlch y Moch with scrub clearance, litter picking, crag maintenance and route cleaning.

Tuesday 10 October
Gogarth Don’t dash off to Anglesey for this one! It’s an evening chat and slideshow at the Vaynol, Nant Peris starting at 8pm, to discuss access and conservation issues directly relating to Gogarth. To get involved or to request more information, phone Lun Roberts on 07773 851455 or email northwalescag@hotmail.co.uk

The North Wales Climbing Action Group is working in association with the BMC, and is supported by; DMM V12 Outdoor The Beacon Plas y Brenin
