Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Chris Moyles announced on his Radio 1 show yesterday that he’ll be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro next year, along with a team of celebrities put together by Gary Barlow, to raise money for Comic Relief.

Take That frontman Gary Barlow said: "I went to Africa for Comic Relief 18 months ago and the images from that trip have stayed with me and made me want to do something big to make a difference and raise money."

The team who will climb Africa's highest peak also includes Cheryl Cole, Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Ben Shephard, Ronan Keating, Kimberley Walsh, Alesha Dixon and Gordon Smart (Sun columnist).  You can read more and check out the cartoon in the Bizarre column on The Sun's website.

The group is set to climb Kilimanjaro in February 2009. Further news of 'The Great Red Nose BT Kili Climb' will be announced on the Comic Relief website at the end of January. Red Nose Day is on Friday 13 March 2009.

Let's hope the information guide 'Travel at High Altitude' produced by Medical Expeditions and Medex is at the top of their reading list.
