Prince Charles holds court

The BMC were invited to the Moorland Centre, Edale on Friday 29th June, to meet HRH The Prince of Wales as he toured the new centre at the heart of the Peak District.

Cath Flitcroft, Access and Conservation Officer was invited to attend a discussion with the Prince, on moorland management and the importance of recreation in the Peak District. A number of local residents and admirers turned up to wish the Prince well and then he was given a tour of the Moorland Centre, meeting the Moors for the Future Staff.

The Prince of Wales then had a nice cup of tea and a sit down. He took part in a lively debate with specialists (including the BMC) from across the Peak District about some of the issues facing moorland management today.
