The BMC has issued guidance on campus board use.
The guidance has been issued following the recent BMC Climbing Injury Symposium after concerns that people, especially young people, may not be aware of the risks of using such apparatus.
The guidance is based on our current state of medical and physiological knowledge about fingers and growth plate development.
The foremost expert in climbing related injuries in the world, Volker Schoffl from Germany, has taken part in the discussion that has led to the BMC issuing this guidance. He has, additionally, now taken this guidance to the UIAA Medical Commission and they have approved it.
