Bad parking creates problems at Kilnsey

Kilnsey Credit C. Craggs

BMC has received reports that Kilnsey is very popular at the moment, with significant numbers of climbers parking on the roadside verge below the crag.

This creates traffic problems for local residents and visitors passing through to experience the picturesque Littondale and Wharfedale further north.

The issue has been previously flagged-up by the YDNPA, and the best solution is to use the ample lay by approx. 450m past the crag, on the right (nr. Skirfare Bridge) – often containing an ice cream van for those after-cranking refreshments!

Keep an eye open for temporary signing at the crag and see the BMC’s RAD pages Here.
