Five years ago, we created BMC TV Breakfast Club at Kendal Mountain Festival. This disruptive little event evolved from a fringe Sunday morning session for the dedicated, to one of the hottest tickets of the weekend. Which also gave us a small problem: how do we make it even better for our 75th anniversary?
After all, we already had Niall Grimes, a raft of celebrity climbers, goody bags, raffle prizes, coffee, pastries, the best BMC TV films and unexpected film premieres and chat. There was only one thing we could add to improve it: give you all a lie-in on Sunday too.
Yep. We’ve gone and done it. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the BMC, we’ve moved BMC TV Breakfast Club to 9pm on Friday night. We’re keeping all the good bits (and that even includes Niall) and adding in a few more surprises to create the night to kick off your Kendal weekend.
This year, BMC TV Night Club is taking place from 9pm – 10.30pm in the Malt Room, downstairs in the main Brewery Arts Centre.
Niall Grimes – climber, storyteller and mischiefmaker – will host this unique event for BMC TV. This year, we’ll be taking you on a ride through climbing and mountain life, film and fun from the BMC, the main Kendal programme and the dark recesses of Niall’s head.
Highlights will include:
• Steve McClure presenting his latest wild adventures
• Emma Twyford, fresh from her 9a super climb
• James McHaffie dressed as Ed Drummond
• Filmakers including Alastair Lee and Paul Diffley
• This year’s BMC TV Women in Adventure winner
• BMC President Lynn Robinson
• Plenty of special guests
• And much, much more
You’ll also get:
• A BMC TV goody bag
• Free entry into a mega raffle
• Spot prizes
• Guaranteed Niall Grimes humour
