The hammer has fallen for the final time on the #BMC4Nepal charity auction, raising an impressive £24,097 for the people of Nepal.
After two exciting weeks of bidding for extraordinary lots, we are pleased to annouce that £22,810 has been raised for Community Action Nepal and £1,287 for the Sherpa Paldorje Education Fund.
BMC President Rehan Siddiqui said:
"It's remarkable to see the mountaineering community club together on this initiative to help our friends – the mountain communities – of Nepal.
We are incredibly grateful to all BMC members and everyone else who got involved in the auction. Our special thanks go to the Alpine Club for all their support and whose members donated some exceptional items which really helped rack up an impressive fundraising total.
