Next month’s Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show will showcase a new competition and sponsor for the GB Bouldering Team, and you can join in the fun with an open event and coaching sessions.
The show, which is the UK’s largest exhibition for adventurous people, takes place at London’s ExCel on 12-15 February. Climbing highlights will include: the Rab SuperBloc Masters, featuring the GB Bouldering Team; The Arch SuperBloc Open, a fun open event for all abilities; and the DMM SuperBloc Masterclass Project, offering one-hour coaching sessions with some of the UK’s best climbers for just £5.50!
Rab SuperBloc Masters
A new invitational bouldering competition pitching the 2015 GB Senior Bouldering Team up against some carefully selected ringers from the UK climbing scene! Who will come out on top and grab the £1,000 cash prize? Come down on Saturday 14 February to catch the action.

The exclusive list of climbers invited to compete against GB Bouldering is still being finalised - check the Facebook page - but so far includes GB Junior climbers Jim Pope, Molly Thompson-Smith, Rachel Carr, Alexia Basch and Hamish Potakar, as well as multiple British champ Gaz Parry and rising star Wiz Fineron.
GB Bouldering Team members’ results from the event will be used to select who goes to the IFSC World Cup events which start in Switzerland at the beginning of May.
New sponsor for GB Bouldering
The event will also be the place where the GB Senior Bouldering Team's new sponsor is first showcased. The team is proud to announce its new relationship with The Arch Climbing Wall!

The Arch SuperBloc Open
The Arch Climbing Wall is also sponsoring an open event on Sunday 15 February. It’s a fun competition suitable for climbers of all abilities including anyone who just fancies ‘giving it a go’ – get involved! Competitors will have three hours to climb as many problems as possible. There will be 25 blocs from beginner to some of the finals left up from the day before to try your hand at a World Cup level final.
With just 250 spots available for pre-registration over five, three hour sessions, places to compete on the brand new SuperBloc Climbing Wall won’t be around for long! Only 50 sessions will be available on a first come first served basis on the day so don’t leave your place up to chance and register today .
DMM SuperBloc Masterclass Project
On Friday 13 February there is a fantastic opportunity to book onto a one-hour coaching session with some of the best climbers in the UK, for the bargain price of £5.50! Even better - £5 of this goes direct to the GB Climbing Team! The funds will then be used to get the team to World Cup events in Europe, America and Asia!

In addition, the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and the British Mountain Guides will be running courses in dry tooling, crevasse rescue and big wall climbing.
As well as the donations received from coaching masterclasses, the GB Climbing Team will be raising money throughout the weekend. Make a donation and help to keep the team at the top of their game on the international circuit. All proceeds will go towards getting GB climbers to international events.

So the weekend is shaping up to be a fantastic showcase of the best of British climbers and climbing. Make sure you get down there on all three days to tune up your climbing skills with the best coaches in Britain on Friday, watch some amazing competition on Saturday and compete yourself on the same problems as the pros on the Sunday!
