All three BMC climbing competitions due to take place in September have now been cancelled.

In light of the on-going Global pandemic, COVID-19, and the uncertainty this provides us with, the BMC has taken the decision to cancel the following events:

  • Youth Open Bouldering (5 September)
  • Welsh Climbing Championships (19 September)
  • Para Climbing Championships (20 September)

With regards to the British Lead Climbing Championships due to take place 3-4 October at Westway in London, we will monitor the situation carefully before making any decisions.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support during these difficult times.

2021 GB National Development Squad Selection Policy

GB Climbing, the BMC Competition Climbing Performance Group and Mountaineering Scotland have now approved changes to 2021 GB National Development Squad Selection Policy which can be found in the document here.

You can read more about the 2021 selection policies in the article here.

We want to say a big thanks to every BMC member who continues to support us through the Coronavirus crisis.

From weekly Facebook Lives and GB Climbing home training videos, to our access team working to re-open the crags and fight for your mountain access, we couldn’t do it without you.

Did you know that we've launched a U27 membership offer for just £1.50 / month? And with full membership from £2.50 / month, it's never been easier to join and support our work:
