The route Acid Test at the left end of Pinfold Qy is dangerously loose and climbers are advised to keep clear until the loose rocks has been removed or fallen naturally.
With similar rock to nearby Deeply Vale but higher, more extensive and being a suntrap, Pinfold Quarry makes an ideal evening venue. The quarry has it's share of sections of broken rock but there are plenty of solid bits with the quarry's characteristic roofs making for entertaining routes and bouldering.
The farmer is happy for climbing to happen in the quarry, providing access is only made through a new galvanised steel double gate (see access section below). Please ensure this is used to maintain access to the quarry.
Parking and Approach
From the parking area, walk along the lane for 200 metres to a new galvanised steel double gate on the right.
As of June 2025 there is a new reservoir near the approach walk. To access the crag walk around the back of the reservoir and approach the quarry from the right end. There is a new fence along the top of the quarry. When walking off the top of routes and returning to the quarry, beware of barbed wire.
