North East Quarry is part of The National Stone Centre, which encompasses a number of quarries of interest to climbers. Fortunately, thanks to an open and progressive attitude to access by the National Stone Centre and The Institute of Quarrying, they are keen to welcome responsible climbers onto the site, subject to the below:
As with any crag, climbers accessing the quarries within the National Stone Centre do so at their own risk Please try to use the formal car park, pay for parking and use the café and facilities on site – visitor payments help to fund the running of the site as somewhere open to the public and climbers Please follow without question any temporary on site restrictions, notices or directions from site staff and present the climbing community in a positive manner The name given to the quarry by The National Stone Centre is M1 Quarry.
IMPORTANT
The only access point for the quarry is by the metal gate. There is a small BMC access point sign here. This is access for climbers. There is no general public access to this quarry.

Cotoneaster is an invasive plant which it taking hold on the quarry floor. Please avoid walking over the plants at all times but particularly in Autumn when the red berries are present.
Parking and Approach
Park in the main National Stone Centre car park (fee) accessible from Porter Lane. The parking fee helps to run the site as a public access site and demonstrates good will from climbers.
Alternatively park responsibly close to the Colehill Quarry entrance on Ravenstor Road.
