Ysbyty Alltwen boulders

Snowdonia

A couple of boulders consisting of mainly good compact rock above flat landings. It is rather brambly underfoot at present (it is tremadog after all) but traffic will easily sort this out. mats are recommended.

Parking and Approach

Park in the hospital car park. At the top left hand corner a short rise leads to a gate. Go through and the boulders are visible on the right. 2 minutes.There is a second area known as the suburbs that can be found by taking the footpath that runs round the righthand side of the hospital. It is less than 10 mins away and is home to a couple of the best problems in the whole area. Type the suburbs into the ukc search engine for details
Area information

A wide range of cliffs - mainly traditional and multi pitch inc. the popular Llanberis Pass, Idwal Slabs, Clogwyn du'r Arddu and Cwm Silyn cliffs, but also outlying outcrops such as Carreg Alltrem. Many crags are on CROW access land - but not all especially some of the outcrops which lie on private enclosed land. Most of central Snowdonia is both designated an SSSI and also is an European Special Area of Conservation on account of the upland habitat and associated geology and plants found here.
