Widehope

Northumberland

A nice crag for beginners in terms of grade, but quite high and serious. As it is sandstone, best avoided when wet as holds may break.

Parking and Approach

Either:

On the B6341 towards Rothbury, there is a layby about half a mile past the two parking areas for Corbys Crag. The Widehope forest is entered from a forestry gate about 100m down the hill from the layby.
Follow the forestry track left through a second gate and into the forest, about 500m later there will be a track turning left up to a small third gate, the crag should be visible. Cross the wall via a gate on the left.

Or:

Park near a gate/track  to the north and cross access land southwards.
