Willersley Castle Rocks

Peak Limestone

Known locally as Scarthin Rock and referred to simply as Willersley by climbers, this north-facing crag on the banks of the Derwent has a great set of big trad pitches, especially in the VS-E1 range. there are also a few sport routes and some fairly esoteric bouldering. The crag is north facing and shady, great for a hot summer day.

Climbed here yesterday, becareful not to disturb the hatchlings on great corner (3 nests on this climb!) and in the pot hole on pothole wall. They are quite far back, so you should be fine if you are careful and respectful.
