Fedw Fawr

Anglesey Other

An extensive limestone crag with many short, recently developed sport routes - the crag is tidal with good quality compact limestone. Further to the east is Traeth Gwyn (White Beach Crag) with some good 15-20m sport routes - some of the lower routes are tidal.

Crag information
Climbing Area: Wales Rock Type: Limestone
Importance: Local CRoW Land: No
Ownership: Private No. of Routes: 48
Within National Park: No Year Developed: 1990
Grid Reference: SH 60464 82005

Following discussions with the land owners at White Beach, they wish that no climbing takes place there, this is down to both concerns over liability and protecting the features of the SSSI which include geological features and flora in the area.

Parking and Approach

The crag has the off the beaten track feel though it is only a short walk away from the National Trust Car Park at Fedw Fawr GR SH604819. Aim to be there on a falling tide 2-3 hours before Low Water (Keep an eye on the rising Tide!). To access Treath Gwyn (White Beach Crag), head back along the road until the right turn and make your way into the field through the permissive footpath, head up the field with the fence on your left as it goes around the top the crag is over the collapsed fence in front.
